The Walleggalm is a mountain restaurant and event venue in the Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm. At around 1,500 metres above sea level, it brings together Austrian alpine cuisine, après-ski, panoramic mountain views and an authentic alpine atmosphere.

Opening Hours & Season
When does the 2026/27 winter season start?
The 2026/27 winter season starts on 4 December 2026. Depending on snow conditions, the Walleggalm remains open until the end of March 2027. Current season information is available on our website.
What are the Walleggalm’s opening hours?
During the winter season, the Walleggalm is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Fridays and Saturdays, your #MEGATIME continues until 7:00 p.m.
Getting Here & Mountain Bus
How do I get to the Walleggalm?
Skiers can reach us directly via slopes 50 to 53. Guests without skis can take the Walleggalm Mountain Bus from the valley. The Walleggweg trail also leads up to the mountain restaurant.
How can guests without skis reach the Walleggalm?
The in-house Mountain Bus connects the valley with the Walleggalm. You can also walk up via the Walleggweg trail.
How does the Mountain Bus work?
The Mountain Bus takes you from the valley to the Walleggalm and back according to the current timetable. Available departures and tickets can be viewed and booked online at https://www.walleggalm.at/mountain-bus.html
How often does the Mountain Bus run?

How much does a Mountain Bus ticket cost?
The current ticket price is displayed during online booking. A day ticket can be added to your table reservation or booked separately through the Mountain Bus page.
How can I plan my return journey to the valley?

Can I hike to the Walleggalm?
Yes. The Walleggweg trail leads to the Walleggalm, for example from the Wallegghof or the Hochalmbahn middle station. Please check current snow and trail conditions before setting off.
Is parking available in the valley?
Free parking is available in the valley. From there, you can continue by Mountain Bus or start your winter walk to the Walleggalm.
Table Reservations & Areas
Do I need to reserve a table for a meal?
A reservation is recommended during busy periods, on event days and for groups. Seating in the self-service area, on the large terrace and indoors is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Depending on the date, reservations are available in the Skybox, on the veranda and by the stage.
Which areas are available at the Walleggalm?
The Walleggalm includes a self-service area, the stage and umbrella bar, the sun terrace, and the exclusive Skybox and Infinity Veranda with table service and panoramic views.
How does the online reservation work?
At https://www.walleggalm.at/tischreservierung.html, choose your date, time and preferred area. You can also add food, drinks and the Mountain Bus. A confirmation with all details will be sent by email. Each reservation covers one hour and can be extended by adding more time slots or selecting the full-day option. Tables are released after 15 minutes if the party has not arrived. Special reservation times may apply on selected event days and will be shown in the booking system.
What does the Skybox offer?
The Skybox combines table service, a lounge atmosphere and panoramic views. It is ideal for special occasions, groups, fine dining and celebrations in a more private setting. The area can accommodate up to 95 people and is available by reservation.
Can I reserve the Infinity Veranda?
Yes. The Infinity Veranda offers an exclusive setting with table service, wide views across the Glemmtal valley and a relaxed premium atmosphere. Current availability is shown in the reservation system.
Is there a minimum spend or deposit?
Reserved tables have a minimum spend per person. It is paid in advance as a deposit and credited in full towards food and drinks on the reserved day.
Can I pre-order food or drinks?
Yes. Selected food and drinks can be pre-ordered as part of your online reservation. This is particularly useful for groups, corporate reservations and event days.

What food is served at the Walleggalm?
The menu features Austrian alpine classics such as Kaiserschmarrn, Kasnocken and goulash soup, along with homemade pizza, salads, desserts and our Tomahawk steak from local Pinzgau beef.
Are vegetarian and children’s dishes available?
Yes. Vegetarian dishes and dedicated children’s meals are a regular part of our offering. The current selection is listed on the menu.
Is breakfast available at the Walleggalm?
Coffee and croissants are available from 8:30 a.m. Every day from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., we serve our Weißwurst breakfast with white sausage, a pretzel and half a litre of beer for €10.
Do you offer fine dining?
In the Skybox and on the Infinity Veranda, you can enjoy selected specialities with table service, champagne, carefully chosen wines and panoramic views over the Glemmtal valley.
What is the Walleggalm’s signature dish?
One of our culinary highlights is the Tomahawk steak from local Pinzgau beef. Our homemade Kaiserschmarrn, Kasnocken and pizza are also guest favourites.

When does après-ski start at the Walleggalm?

The energy builds around the stage and umbrella bar, while the Skybox and Infinity Veranda offer a more relaxed setting with table service and views. Every group can find the area that suits them.
How loud is it at the Walleggalm?
Music is at the heart of the stage and bar areas. The premium areas higher up offer a more relaxed atmosphere. When booking, you can choose the area that best matches the experience you want.

For selected events, a VIP ticket combines admission with a guaranteed seat and additional benefits. The package and minimum spend may vary by event and are clearly displayed during booking.

What happens on New Year’s Eve at the Walleggalm?
Depending on the current programme, New Year’s Eve on the mountain may include a champagne reception, multi-course menu, live DJ, fireworks and a midnight snack. Places are limited, so early booking through the event page is recommended.
What happens in bad weather?
The Walleggalm atmosphere continues in changing weather. A fireplace, music and good food create a cosy setting indoors, and parts of the outdoor and stage areas can be used with weather protection.
